Good Wednesday. Please let me know if I forgot any details, etc.
1. Finalize schedule, descriptions, and presenters. Get your
speaker names to Todd. Laura will submit speaker names for Preventing
Violence in the workplace and Supporting Veterans in Higher Education.
2. Hotel information. Laura provided info on one hotel (and just
after the meeting e-mailed out the second hotel info). Todd has loaded
both on the WaACRAO website.
3. Announcement of conference - plan of attack. Bonnie will update
the list-serves. Tina will update the flyer and send it out. Once you
have received it, please share with your co-workers in Admissions and
Registration/Records!
4. Registration / payment - make sure all details are covered. We
are ready to receive registration fees!
5. WaACRAO logo. We first discussed our vision and the step to
creating a slogan to go with the logo. We crafted an idea:
"Serving the WA Higher Education Community." We want it
to sound and feel inclusive.
Todd will work on verbiage that can go with the logo. In the long run,
the primary idea of the "slogan" is to have a snappy phrase saying what
we do. In the short run, it will also guide student graphic designers
to capture the essence of WaACRAO in their projects.
Laura reported that the HCC student Yuliya S. will submit a logo idea.
She is setting up as a coop-ed project. Andrew will
contact universities and the CTCs about finding other graphic students
to submit ideas. We hope to have a $50 honorarium for
the chosen logo. Or, if we can afford it, we might give out additional
honorariums.
6. February items to do - Encourage folks to register for the
conference.
Look at logo submissions if there are any submitted
Look at signage needs?
7. March items to do - Encourage folks to register for the
conference
Look at logo submissions if there are any submitted
8. Vendor support. At this time, no vendors are able to support
the conference. We will need to stay in budget. Food is estimated to
cost $17.00 per person. With a $25.00 registration fee, we will have
$8.00 to utilize/save if possible.
9. Promo items. Becky found a great catalog which we e-mailed out
before the meeting. We decided on the maximum cost $4.00 per unit
(which includes tax, shipping and handling costs). This will give us
approximately $4.00 per person to save. The shopping bag and bottle
ideas were top choices. We will likely go with a shopping bag. Great
ideas everyone. Darla, thanks for your efforts in encouraging us to
look at this idea.
10. Next meetings: February 20 at 10 am via ITV or conference call if
absolutely necessary. Our last meeting before the event, March 20 at
10am, is our last meeting before the event. If at all possible, please
be at RTC that day so we can look at the meeting rooms and review the
flow of traffic.
11. April 3 is a little over two months away! Great job everyone!
