Hi Team!

I met with Machelle and I wanted to follow-up from the last planning
meeting.

For the Admissions Panel, I have recommended to Betsy, we also include
Residency/Immigration challenges for Admissions staff as well as ESL
matriculation. The ESL matriculation is something we have been learning
about and focused on at Highline as we work to serve our populations.
:-)

Food. I wanted to recommend that we offer three things in the way of
food:

1.	Healthy and yummy snacks like last year's buffet
2.	Great healthy lunch like last year with a cookie or other small
dessert
3.	Goodie travel bags with a few snacks in it for the road. On the
goodie travel bag we could put a label or sticker that says, "Thanks for
attending WaACRAO 2008. You make the difference for students in
Washington!" (or something like that)

I am thinking that if we could get a price estimate on the snacks and
goodie travel bags, I could ask Clearinghouse for that amount of money.
I assume the lunch will be covered in the registration fee.

We could provide goodie travel bags as participants leave. In the
individual bags, we could include:

1. A small bottle of water

2. A small bag of chips

3. An apple or banana (or something similar)

If CWU can make the goodie travel bags, that would be great. If it is
too expensive for us, I can see us assembling them and the cost of this
at $1.00 per participant. I would like to think in terms of what we
want in snacks and then ask Clearinghouse to provide that amount of
money.

Cheryl, would you check into the costs of the snacks as we had last
year: fruit trays, pastries, tea, coffee, juices and also the goodie
travel bags? Also, if you could ask CWU catering that if our budget
won't meet their cost, if we can provide the goodie travel bags. Then,
if we want to adhere thank you labels (as mentioned above), we could do
it that as well.

Sorry to miss the next meeting too! I hope to be skiing and snowshoeing
around Bachelor in Oregon. It's my husband's and my annual snow trip.
Machelle will let me know what the group thinks/decides about this and
I'll go with it from there.

Take care. :-)

Laura
