This funding opportunity will use the NIH education projects (R25) award

through this announcement is approximately $4 million per year for new
and competing renewal applications. The total project period for an
application submitted in response to this funding opportunity may not
exceed four years. Although the size of award may vary with the scope of
the research education program proposed, it is expected that
applications will stay within the following budgetary guidelines: total
direct costs are limited to $350,000 annually for institutions with
programs primarily for baccalaureate degree students, and $550,000
annually for programs that include a significant Ph.D. student
component. Cost sharing is not required.

Eligibility:

Applications may be submitted by domestic public or nonprofit private
research institutions that award the baccalaureate, research master's,
or doctoral degree in biomedical or behavioral science fields with a
significant number of full-time matriculated students from groups
underrepresented in these fields.

Abstract:

This program seeks to facilitate and promote, at research institutions
with significant number of mentors with NIH or other extramural research
support, the entry into biomedical or behavioral research fields of
undergraduate and graduate students from groups underrepresented in
these fields. The program provides institutional support for existing or
innovative student development activities, including research
internships, that will increase students' knowledge, skills, and
information as they move to more advanced levels and ultimately attain
the Ph.D. degree in biomedical or behavioral research fields.\\This is a
