Title:

Pfeiffer Research Grants

Sponsor:

Pfeiffer Research Foundation, Gustavus and Louise

Sponsor Type:

Private Foundation

Deadlines:

Pre-proposal due to OGRD: November 10, 2008

Proposal due to Agency: July 25, 2009

Deadline Note:

The foundation's directors meet twice a year to consider grant
applications. The spring meeting is held in April. The fall meeting is
held in late October. Applicants must first submit a two page letter of
inquiry not later than January 8 for the spring meeting, or July 25 for
the fall meeting. If approved, formal applications must be filed by the
date specified in the letter of the foundation approving the proposed
project.

Internal coordination required. No more than three letters of inquiry
from the same institution per meeting will be accepted. No more than one
active grant will normally be permitted to be outstanding at any
institution. Therefore, investigators at an institution where there is
an ongoing grant should not submit requests for projects overlapping the
period of the funded project and, if that project is a multi-year
project, they should bear in mind that a renewal application for that
project is likely to be favored over a new project.

The letter of inquiry should not exceed two pages and state, in language
which an educated lay person can understand, the nature and purpose of
the project, the field of interest of the foundation to which it
relates, the amount requested, and a general description of the items to
be funded.

The foundation's secretary will advise whether submission of a full
application is invited and, if so, will provide details concerning the
requirements for such application.

Upper Amount:

$75,000

Amount Note:

The foundation makes grants of up to $75,000. Grants are for a period of
one year, subject to possible renewal, limited to two additional one
year periods for the same project or investigator.

Eligibility:

Grants are made only to tax exempt institutions.

Citizenship or Residency:

United States

Activity Location:

United States

Requirements:

Abstract:

The foundation makes grants to tax-exempt institutions for projects or
programs carried out in the U.S. for advancement of medicine and
